Feeling Festive

Feeling Festive

I, like so many others, absolutely love this time of year. I find the beginning of December and the run up to Christmas almost more exciting than the day itself! Its so full of anticipation, good cheer and of course, all of the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. There are so many fun things that you can do to get yourself feeling festive, and this is my Christmas themed bucket list for the month!

Decorating

Getting the decorations down and making the house feel all Christmassy by putting the tree up is always my favourite way of kicking it all off! Theres nothing more festive than putting on the Christmas music and transforming the whole house. No other Christmas activities are worth doing in a house that isn’t decorated!

Winter Wonderland

I’ve never been to Winter Wonderland before, so I’m super excited that I have it booked for exactly a week before Christmas! I think it will be a perfect way of getting festive, and I’m particularly looking forward to visiting the Ice Bar.

Christmas Markets

I love browsing anywhere festive! From Christmas markets to John Lewis and my local garden centre, my Decembers are usually full of window shopping. I love how inspiring these places can be, they usually always give me some great ideas for gifts or for decorating my own home.

Wrapping and Writing

If you’re someone who finds wrapping presents and writing cards a chore, you’re just not doing it right! Turn up the Christmas music and get crafty with ribbons and gift tags, if looking at all of the presents you have and thinking about how happy they’ll make your loved ones doesn’t get you feeling festive, then nothing will!

Christmas Baking

I have a confession to make…
I’m not a traditional Christmas baker.
I don’t like Christmas cake, mince pies, Christmas pudding, or anything plied with brandy! What I do love are cupcakes topped with miniature trees and snowmen, chocolatey Yule Logs sprinkled with icing sugar snow and sharp lemon tarts. Theres always a way of making your baking festive, even if its not traditional.

Christmas Candles

All the Christmas Candles

Feeling festive? You know what will enhance that feeling even more? Christmas candles. I had no idea Christmas Eve smelt as good as Yankee Candle says it does. There are so many gorgeous festive scents and I love going overboard with candles, wax melts and anything thats going to make my house smell like Christmas.

Gift Shopping

Gifting my loved ones with thoughtful presents that I know they’ll love is one of my favourite things about Christmas. I find it so difficult not to shout it from the rooftops when I’ve found the perfect gift, because I get so excited about it! Window shopping, festive hot chocolate in hand, or sat online shopping positioned between the fire and Christmas tree are my favourite ways to shop for gifts.

What’s on your December Bucket List? I’d love some more festive ideas so let me know in the comments!

I think the only other thing on my December bucket list is trying out some festive drinks this year and spending time with family 🙂 have a fabulous December x
