Why I Recommend A New Year Spa Stay

I don’t like January. I mean, who does? Christmas is over, the new year pressure is on, and it’s so cold. Luckily, I’ve recently discovered a revolutionary way to make the whole ‘January’ situation not just bearable, but enjoyable!? and its so simple. Visit a Spa.

Our Aqua Sana Experience

My partner and I recently visited one of the Center Parcs Aqua Sana’s for a Luxury Spa Break. We live pretty close to our chosen Village in Elveden, but the Spa Suites are located with a wonderful view of the woodland and I honestly felt like we could have been anywhere. The suite’s fridge was stocked with drinks and chocolate covered strawberries, and the bedroom led to the most gorgeous oversized bath I’ve ever seen (I’ve edited my ideal bathroom daydreams accordingly). Our package included unlimited Spa access for the duration of our stay, an evening meal, breakfast, lunch and a 55 minute hot stone massage treatment. Jamie was happy with the signature treatment, and really enjoyed it, but I chose to upgrade mine to an Elemis Biotec Radiance Renew Facial which was perfect for me. The Spa itself has a variety of different steam rooms, pools, gardens, and places to just relax and spend some quality time doing absolutely nothing.

Why I’d Recommend A Luxury Spa Stay

There really is no better time than the beginning of a new year to take advantage of that underused do not disturb feature, forget about the world outside, and to just focus on some self-care. I don’t know about anyone else but my skin in January is more in need of a facial than at any other time! After a long Christmas period of too much wine and not enough fruit or exercise, my facial visibly improved my complexion and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The experience was a great way of feeling better about myself and finding the motivation to take better care of both my mental and physical health. Having a little time away from worrying about anything or anyone else was incredibly refreshing, and it gave us the chance to talk about all of the positive things that we have to look forward to this year. One of my largest self-professed flaws is a tendency to get quickly stressed out and very easily frustrated. It sounds so cliché but having some down time with absolutely nothing to worry about other than which spa experience we should try out next was incredibly helpful. A little pampering combined with a taste of luxury is a fail-proof way of not only enjoying yourself but kickstarting the new year the right way too.

Does anyone else have any good new year posts or tips? I’d love to hear about them!

  2. This sounds like the perfect stay and get away! I wish I’d done something like this! I feel the new year is the worse time for me as it’s dark and Christmas is over! Getting away and having time to think and plan for the year ahead would be perfect! Great pictures as always sophie!

  3. I would love a spa break but my husband would rather stick pins in his eyes 🙈 so I’d be going alone! I’ve heard great things about Centre Parcs though and your review and amazing pics have definitely reinforced that impression. Thank you so much for sharing your stay xx
