Despite the showers, last month was my best month of the year so far. Not only did we have a few sunny days here in the UK, but April was also host to my first holiday of the year. I’m definitely not ready for May, but it’s here anyway! Before I put April to bed, here are my highlights…
I won’t go into this in too much detail, because I have a dedicated post going up on Thursday, you already know its a good one because its in my favourites!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you may already know that I’ve been getting on really well with this. I’m a huge fan of argon oil, and this didn’t disappoint. The product has a thick cream consistency, which feels smooth and comfortable on the under-eye area. This hasn’t overtaken my love for the Clinique All About Eyes (which is much more pricey), but it has overtaken all of my other eye-creams.
I purchased the mini version of this as my airport treat, and already regret not jumping into the deep end with the full size product. I used this all holiday: for wanders up and down the beach, pedalo travels, and laying out in the mid-day sun, it kept my make up perfect through it all. One consideration is the slightly unpleasant smell, however this doesn’t linger, and the product itself more than makes up for it.
Our Greek hosts, and the best one could ask for. This holiday was booked for the sole purpose of five days relaxing in the sun, but if you don’t like resort holidays then this wouldn’t be for you. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, Halkidiki saw an average of 23°c throughout our stay, and The Olivia is by far the best all inclusive hotel I’ve ever been to. In the evenings we were able to visit their four A La Carte restaurants; themed Asian, French, Greek and Italian. We were served the most amazing food (and I’m pretty critical) and were offered wine menus which I ordered by the glass (as I like a sweeter wine than the rest of my family) and the rest of the table ordered by the bottle. We only indulged in room service to our sea view balcony once, as the resort restaurants were far too nice to waste, but all of this was covered by the ‘all inclusive’ price. My parents regularly visit this hotel, but it took a trip there for myself to understand why they love it so much.
During those gorgeous few days in which the sun blessed us with its presence and the wind left us well alone, me and my partner took the opportunity to visit my favourite part of the North Norfolk coast. The Cookies and Cream and Bubblegum Marshmallow (weird combo I know, but I couldn’t decide) ice cream also made it into my favourites.
Unfortunately, at home I’m rarely able to find the time to read as much as I used to, so whenever I’m off on a beach holiday, I like to pick up a book or two at the airport. The Woman in the Window was my choice for Greece. I have to admit, I was in a bit of a rush when I picked this up, and chose it because I thought it was written by the author of Gone Girl… it wasn’t. Nevertheless, I absolutely loved this book, it was so full of suspense and easy to read. I finished it within a few days, and found it similar to Gone Girl in its twisty-turny, dramatic storyline, so if you liked that, I’d recommend picking this up too.
Avengers, Infinity War
Another favourite that I’m not going to speak about in too much detail for risk of spoiling it for others. I will say that it was absolutely nothing like I expected it to be, in the most amazing way. Lets be honest, Disney will always have my heart.
